Email and Website on Different Servers?

Hi all,

So I've recently run into a client who wants to host their website elsewhere and gave me a A record to point the domain to. But they want to keep their email on our servers. I've tried changing the A record but when I do that, emails start bouncing and not working.

Any ideas?

Hi @Ryan Donahue

In order to do this the MX record can't be domain.tld (which it is by default) I would suggest changing it to something like mail.domain.tld and create an A record for that as well.
