A client just forwarded a list of about 5 email bounces from aol./com email accounts as exampled below...

[email protected]
host mx-aol.mail.gm0.yahoodns.net [67.195.228.84]
Delay reason: SMTP error from remote mail server after pipelined MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> SIZE=5713:
421 4.7.0 [TSS04] Messages from 209.127.52.98 temporarily deferred due to unexpected volume or user complaints - 4.16.55.1; see https://postmaster.yahooinc.com/error-codes
I reviewed the yahoo error code link which seems to indicate Yahoo think there is a DKIM, SPF issue.

I went into cPanel for my client's account and ran Email Deliverability.

DKIM is properly configured for this domain
SPF is properly configured for this domain

Reverse DNS - PTR
"The system uses an alternate HELO of “write.themoneyfactor.net” when sending mail from the “firehousemusic.com” domain.

The system sends the domain “write.themoneyfactor.net” in the SMTP handshake for this domain’s email. “write.themoneyfactor.net” does not resolve to any IP addresses.

To fix this problem, contact your system administrator and request that they create a DNS “A” record for “write.themoneyfactor.net” whose value is “209.127.52.98”."

At this point I go to WHM into DNS Zone Manager and add an A record as instructed above return to the client's cPanel, run eMail Deliverability again -> Reverse DNS (PTR) error still exists.

Advice anyone?

I am very puzzled. Why are ALL of the domains on my server showing the following under Mail Deliverability?

--------------------------------
Manage The Domain

Domain:
MyClientsDomain.com

Mail HELO - The name by which the server identifies itself when sending mail from “MyCLinetsDomain.com”.
write.themoneyfactor.net
--------------------------------

I have no idea in hell where that Mail HELO value came from nor do I know if I need to or how to change it. Help please!

Thanks

Hey there! From the Yahoo link:

"A 421 or 451 SMTP error indicates a temporary problem blocking the delivery of your message. Message delivery can be delayed for multiple reasons including:
  • We've observed unusual traffic patterns from your sending server's IP address.
  • The message you attempted to send included characteristics of spam.
  • Emails from your mail server have been generating complaints from Yahoo users.
  • The Yahoo mail servers are busy when attempting a connection.
  • Other suspicious behavior which leads Yahoo to enforce a dynamic deprioritization for your sender's server."
I don't think that error code has anything to do with SPF or DNS settings.

Usually the mail helo value is the hostname of the server. It's possible this could be different if you have configured custom helo records for various IPs on the server, such as using the details here:

No I have not configured anything in those areas. However when I login into cPanel for the specific used and go to Emil - Email Deliverability, under Email Deliverability Stautus is teh following error message.

Problems Exist (Reverse DNS)

Then if I click "Manage" to the right of the message, the text in my post above about PTR and 'themoneyfactor.net' is displayed.

I have no idea at all what themoneyfactor.net is and how it got set and if that is the cause if the problem.
I don't know if that is a valid entry.
I do not know how to remove it if it is invalid.
Basically I have no idea n hell what I am doing in this area! :)

Rex I --THINK-- it was relaetd to some invalid rDNS entries. I have resolved that and will keep an eye on it to see if this resolved the email issue as well. thanks!
