    Hi all

    I hope you can help.
I'm having problems configuring the email and I'm sure it's something to do with mx records. I've used cpanel for many years with hostgator but I'm trying to switch over to AWS.

I've added an email account to cpanel and tried to send an email. Got this back from my existing host.
    Code:
<mark@domain.uk>: connect to domain.uk[***IP***]:25: Connection timed out

    Reporting-MTA: dns; gateway06.websitewelcome.com
    X-Postfix-Queue-ID: BA8F6CEB9679
    X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; mark@otherdomain.co.uk
    Arrival-Date: Mon, 21 Jul 2014 17:17:10 -0500 (CDT)

    Final-Recipient: rfc822; mark@domain.uk
    Action: failed
    Status: 4.4.1
    Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; connect to domain.uk[***IP***]:25: Connection
        timed out

I've tried searching online with no luck.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Mark

    Hello :)

It looks like outgoing connections over port 25 are blocked. You can try to telnet to that mail server via the command line to verify if that's the case. EX:

    Code:
    telnet remote-mail-server.com 25
If it fails, then you may need to consult with your data center or hosting provider to get them to open up port 25.

    Thank you.

    Hi Michael

Thank you so much for your help.
It was port 25 that was to blame.

    Many thanks
