We run a small cPanel server that is only used for email. Everything else is turned off. We all use Thunderbird and love it, and have recently gotten into the habit of sending encrypted/signed emails to each other. Was wondering however if there was a way to encrypt/decrypt emails using one of cPanel's included webmail software.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Currently, these aren't supported out of the box from what I've been reading. Roundcube has a tracker for development of such a project, but it was last responded to 10 months ago:

    PluginRepository/Encryption

Horde and Squirrelmail do not have any current discussions I could find for encryption of this sort.

Of note, you could always consider removing the webmail options entirely if you feel that it isn't sufficiently secure in your environment.

You might also want to post a feature request for something to be implemented on our end:

Feature Requests for cPanel & WHM

    Thanks!

Keep in mind with Webmail you need access to the private key. If it is stored on the mail server, it will need a way to unlock it, and this might be why there is little movements in the projects.
