I know the passwords and usernames i am the system admin everything else is working but email is not please help.

Where are you receiving this error? Is it Horde webmail?

I too am having this problem on a newly created cPanel server.

The particular error the OP has posted is shown on the Horde screen.

I can however login to the cPanel 'webmail' system by going to my-domain/webmail and logging in. If I then try to go to either Horde or Squirrel, and use EXACTLY the same credentials, it tells me the details are incorrect.

I can't login via IMAP either.

Please help, this is kind of hindering my migration from Plesk just now

OK, so I found another thread with different symptoms but a conclusion that, for some reason, I hadn't thought of.

I restarted the IMAP service and now it's working fine!

Yes, this works. Had exactly the same problem as above, a restart of the IMAP server fixed this.

I wonder what happened...

Just had this problem also. Restarting IMAP fixed it.

This is a fresh install as of a few days ago. I'm not sure my machine has been rebooted since everything was originally set up. I wonder if it's a timing issue with services starting or something. I'll have to check after my next (first) reboot.
