    Hi all.

    one of our Cpanel servers had an incorrect IP address on it, (we had it as a /24 insted of a /27)
    we only noticed the issue once we changed routers and found the server could not access some parts of our network. We fixed this issue by removing the IP address in Cpanel and then re adding it with the correct details.

    I then did "service ipaliases restart" from shell

    we have also rebooted the server.

    hoewver now, all emails form all accounts on the box are failing to send with the following examples:

    Code:
    Connecting to mx4.hotmail.com [65.55.92.168]:25 ... failed: Connection timed out (timeout=5m)
    LOG: MAIN
      mx4.hotmail.com [65.55.92.168] Connection timed out
    LOG: MAIN
      == [EMAIL="mic*******@hotmail.com"]mic*******@hotmail.com[/EMAIL] R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (110): Connection timed out

    Code:
    2011-09-26 16:30:26 1R81QJ-0005oB-7A == [EMAIL="gu****@gmail.com"]gu****@gmail.com[/EMAIL] R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (-53): retry time not reached for any host
    2011-09-26 16:51:18 1R81QJ-0005oB-7A gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com [74.125.45.26] Connection timed out
    2011-09-26 16:51:18 1R81QJ-0005oB-7A == [EMAIL="gu****@gmail.com"]gu****@gmail.com[/EMAIL] R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (110): Connection timed out

    I have tried:
    Rebooting, resetting DNS records, Restarting BInd, Restarting Exim,
    also tried form another post here the following
    Code:
    /usr/sbin/exim_tidydb -t 1d /var/spool/exim retry > /dev/null
    /usr/sbin/exim_tidydb -t 1d /var/spool/exim reject > /dev/null
    /usr/sbin/exim_tidydb -t 1d /var/spool/exim wait-remote_smtp > /dev/null

    /scripts/courierup -- force
    /scripts/eximup --force

    still have mails building up in the Q... all getting a timeout.
    Please Advise.

    As soon as it hits 1am local time im going to go power cycle the server and the core router as there may be some remaining routs cousaing the communication error. But that is my last idea.
