email filters giving errors after latest update

My hosts updated to cPanel build 7.2.1 RELEASE 45. The servers are (Red Hat I think) Linux boxes. After the update, my email filters no longer work correctly. For instance, after testing an email header in the tryout box, I get errors that look like this:
Match expanded arguments:
Subject = "Emily Palacios"
Pattern = .*free *vacation.*
**** debug string too long - truncated ****
Is there anything I can do about this, or a tip I can send to my host? They *claim* they aren't receiving any help from the CPanel support. Whether they are actively trying or not, I've been receive the full brunt of SPAM over the last 10 days since the udpate. Driving me ***** crazy....

thanks
david

What was the pattern you put in the filter?

it happens on every pattern, no matter how complicated or simple, or what I try to match it to. The error message above is just one section of the full error message, that section is repeated once for each filter I have set.

The headers I put into the filter to test don't matter either -- I can just hit the try-it or whatever button to run the test with the sample text already in the box, and it gives the same errors. But for the sake of debugging, here was the headers that I copied from the email source of a spam message I received, that I used to get the message I posted before:

The pattern that was matched to get the error above was included in the error message I put in earlier.

thanks for looking at this, it's driving me crazy

if your spam filter has a '%', ':', '&', '=', '@' or a '+' in it, it won't delete (bug with CPanel, it doesn't accomodate special characters) because those are special characters in URLs. Replace each instance with these characters with the url-coded of that character (a '%' and a two-digit hex code), the conversion goes like this:

% => %25
: => %3A
& => %26
= => %3D
@ => %40
+ => %2B

If I missed any characters, I've got a copy of the escape/url codes at http://www.dreamdynamics.com/escapechart

hope this helps
