Email Forwarded to cPanel Username

cPanel Community,

When email is forwarded to a cPanel username (no @domain-name.tld) or sent to email address [email protected], the email server stores the email in /home/username/new.

How is the user supposed to access this email?

Is it supposed to be forwarded to [email protected]?

In your cPanel > Preferences > Update Contact Info, you should have a valid email here. System emails to the cPanel user should all go to that Contact Info email address.

The cPanel user can access that email by going to cPanel > Mail section > Email Accounts, and scroll to bottom. You'll see a link to Access Webmail for "Default Email Account"
