email issue

i am having a real struggle to setup an imap email,
i own a domain name which is being used by a friends webmaster, he has my nameservers redirected to a parked domain on his hosting company(different to mine) where has the files hosted. he has setup the email address and servers at his end but we cannot set up the email under imap with SPA ticked on this end, it will only work with SPA unticked, and i cannot set up the email on his blackberry, yet i can set up my own emails on his blackberry with ease, i feel that this issue is somehow related to the parked domain but cannot figure out why we cannot get it to work,

i hope this is explained ok,

would we be better doing it differently and having the email set up on my servers instead of attached as such to a parked domain,

Do not tick SPA. That is not what you want. You want "SMTP Authentication" or (in MS Outlook / Windows Live terms "My Server Requires Authentication"), but in no way do you ever want to select SPA. Secure Password Authentication is only used when authenticating into Microsoft servers [i.e. Exchange], and then only under certain conditions. SPA will never work on cPanel.

my apologies i meant My Server Requires Authentication, it does not work with this ticked and will only work without, i think there is a mis-configuration with redirecting my domain name to my friends webmasters account elsewhere where he hosts the files,
