I have a mail accounts on a server and want to move the emails to a different server, both servers are running cpanel. Is there a way to do this? How do I go about it?

The direct approach would be to simply package the account and copy it over.
This will restore the mail accounts, mail data and all over account information.

However, the slower/non-direct approach would be to create matching email accounts on the remote system and then transfer the directories /home/username/mail/domain.tld/ and /home/username/etc/domain.tld/ to the new system.

I know it's a old subject but I really really don't know how to do this!:confused::confused:

I was able to compress the mail directory, but what's next? How can I transfer it to the other server?

I'm not sure about that approach, but I'd recommend a slightly different approach. You can use a web-based tool, such as Yippiemove to do this. The benefit of this approach is that it works when you're moving your from other sources too, not only cpanel to cpanel.
