    Yesterday i noticed that i hadnt recieved any emails via my server for a few hours which is unusual

    so i checked into it and found the Mail Que was round about 1500

    I tried to MANUALY deliver all, then one by one, but no luck

    i hadnt messed with any settings or anythin, so its not as if ive done somethng

    alls i can say is that i added a PHP email script to my site a day before this happened, which was working but may of increase outgoing mail by an extra 100 a day tops

    here is a few of the errors ive takin from the mail logs

    2005-10-10 03:11:23 1EOmzF-0005y8-FC mx2.hotmail.com [65.54.190.7]: Connection timed out

    2005-10-10 03:11:43 1ENscR-0007T5-Ex SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: host mailin-04.mx.aol.com [64.12.138.89]: 421-: (DNS:NR) http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/421dnsnr.html\n421 SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE

    2005-10-10 03:10:01 1EOiap-0005Ym-3E == m1ckyb@hotmail.co.uk R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (110): Connection timed out

    any idea whats going on, i believe chirpy is the man for this problem...

    By the way NO emails are being sent, not even ones generated by HORDE etc, they just get added to the QUE

    Thanks

    Connection timeouts might suggest that there's a firewall problem or perhaps a DNS resolver problem. The AOL one you'd have to ask AOL about since that error is coming from them.

    Are you using MailScanner? If so, you should check /var/log/maillog for errors from it. You can also try:

    /scripts/eximup --force
    /scripts/buildeximconf
    /scripts/mailscannerupdate
    /usr/mscpanel/mscheck.pl

    That would suggest a locking issue with your rpm database.
