Email not working (web/pop/imap)

Fresh install of Cpanel through my provider. I created my site (via whm) and began the rebuilding process. I tried to create several email address but ran into a brick wall:

I can create an email account within cpanel.

When I try and access it via pop3 I get:

Task 'XXX.nett - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts.  The server responded: -ERR Login failed.'
In outlook I can find smtp server, I can find pop3 server but I failed to log onto incoming mail server.

When I try to connect via the web I get the following:

click "read webmail" from cpanel -> enter my password for my email -> I'm told i'm logged into my email account and I am now presented with a choice of Horde or Squirrelmail. If I select Horde: I'm asked for a language -> I receive the following errors

When I try and log into squirrelmail I get:

Unknown user or password incorrect.
when logging into the web or through outlook I use my full account name [email protected] or mailname+mydomain.net without any luck.

Ive searched but can not find any answers, I've also tried several things but still not luck.

I should also add I'm running 10.8.2-RELEASE 119

I should also add, that a second domain I created is doing the same thing.

Also note that both domains both default email addresses are also coming back with the same unknown user name/password.

could it be I did not set something up in the main whm?

hehe I keep replying to my thread LOL

I think I found the problem, kind of.

I restarted exim, pop3 and imap and it's now working ???? I wonder if I need to do this after I add each new email?

Hope this may help someone in the future.

Go on, have a guess
:) Check in WHM > Service Manager > and make sure that the tick boxes for antirelayd, pop, imap and syslog are ticked (both for each). You should also tick any of the others that you use to ensure that chkservd (the process that ensures that the applications are running) restarts them if they fail.

Thanks added all those second check marks. The service restarted and it's working fine now.
