In regards to preventing "bots" or whatever these scripts are that capture email addresses off websites, what is the best method to show an email address on a website while keeping it hyperlinked?

If I'm not mistaking, [email protected] is a bad idea

Is this better?

someone @ domain.com
someone {@} domain.com

What do you suggest and how do you have it properly hyperlinked even though the email is shown spaced/broken per se

There are many applications allowing to encrypt an email address. We started encrypting our email addresses back in 2002 (View the source of our HTML page at: http://www.servertune.com/main/contacts.html). We use Email Address Encryptor http://www.language-museum.com/eae/index.htm.

Newer spambots are parsing Javascript and de-obfuscating HTML. For easy and effective spam protection, E-Mail addresses should not be text based. Use an image instead.
