We are developing an intranet for a client on a server with CPanel. However their current website and email is still being hosted elsewhere. The client is basically trying out this intranet and then we will work on redesigning the main website portion and then do a final switchover of everything to the new server. They currently access the intranet using the IP address of the new server. Here is the question:

There is a little page on the intranet that allows them to do a mass email to everyone at their company. Well the emails that people have @thedomainImtalkingabout.com will not get delivered because the server thinks these are going to be local but since we haven’t switched the dns, they actually need to be sent to an external server. So, I need some kind of temporary solution to route these emails to the right place without switching dns yet. Got any ideas? Not sure if I can do something within the code or if it would be easier server level.

Thanks for any help. If you need further clarification, let me know please. Thanks.

Edit the DNS on the cPanel server to point to the external mail server. Remove the domain from /etc/localdomains and add it to /etc/remotedomains.
