I am told some servers have a security feature where they will not allow outgoing mail to email addresses with a - in them such as a-jim@jim.com I was unaware that you can actually have a - in an email address. A _ yes but not a -

Do serverbeach servers have such a security feature?

    thanks,
    Rich

Surely the best way is to try and see what happens.

A hypen in an email address shouldn't be a problem and is probably not too uncommon and so I'd be surprised if a mail server was configured to prevent mail from being sent to an email address that contains a hypen.

As an example, I used to have an email address of -_@example.com (yes, hyphen underscore only). I set this up as a test address with an ISP I supported. The main reason was that it was just too easy (and fun) to confuse those just-too-annoying customers with it.
