I have CPanel/WHM setup on my server, Exim is running.

I have setup an email account and it doesn't work when i try to connect to it using Outlook Express, It just won't accept the user name and password.

When i try to read it via WebMail it doesn't accept the user name and password.

I have tried a few different things and this just isn't working.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you,
    Chris Mayhew

I have tried that and it doesn't work.

I haven't actually changed any Exim or Mail settings since Managed.com setup my server with CPanel/WHM

Nope, i am running Red Hat 9.

According to Managed.com that is what you had to have to install CPanel/WHM

Well, this might apply to some RH9 installs.

Check and see if dovecot is running. If so, killall dovecot processes and restart cppop.

I have just found out that my mates domain name can actually connect/send and receive email.

But my domain will not connect no matter what i do.

He actually is using a sub domain of my domain.

It never hurts to try and rule out every possibility. Also, take a peek at your IP tables.

Naturally I am assuming that your are NOT behind a firewall!

I figured out what it was, i decided to re-add the CPanel account.

And when trying to do that it complained about my Hostname being the same as the domain.

So i changed the host name, added the account and guess what? EMail works.

    Thanks for your help. :)

I'll be back if i have any more WHM/CPanel problems ;)
