A user of mine is having a serious problem with webmail. He can receive mail just fine using outlook, but for some reason they do not appear in Horde (or neomail). He has the keep mail on server setting checked in outlook, and the emails seem to be stored in /home/user/mail/account /inbox but no matter what I try they don't appear in horde. This is a very localised problem, affecting only certain email accounts in his cpanel account. It doesn't affect anyone else on the server.

He has plenty of disk space, and I've tried the obvious like restarting services and rebuilding inboxes.

Anyone have any clue at all as to what might be causing this? I'll take wild speculation at this point.

    Thanks in advance!

same problem here, the files contain emails, but they don't show up in horde or neomail, in horde 8 emails show up and if I delete one and refresh inbox it reappears.

I hope there is going to be a fix for this.. I can see the customer complaings coming. If I delete the account and create it again it's fixed but it just starts doing it again.. I am leaving the mail on the server when using outlook Express are you doing the same? Trying
to find something that might help with an answer.

Im having this problem also with one of the emails for a customer of mine. It also happens to one of my personal accounts. I was using Edge_124, but went down to release_64 and still have same problem.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I have noticed that messages started appearing in /home/user/mail/domainname.com/account /inbox instead of /home/user/mail/account /inbox (which also exists).

Deleting the account deletes both, and adding a new account seems to create both.

If your user is logging in with the cpanel username instead of the xx@domain username, and can see all the accounts, have him look for a second copy of the account.

I'd love to know why this happens, and if there is a way to clean it up.

This is from a cPanel tech regarding the multiple inboxes:

I hope that Nick will find time to go through and "clean it up" so that theres only one mailbox, because although the second mailbox doesn't matter a whole lot, it still tends to get mail somehow? Which means the user's not getting the mail.

So does anyone know why these inboxes (/mail/user/inbox) are slowly filled up with only a few emails once in a while ? Even if no subdomains are set up..
Just checked with a couple of clients, and one found several emails there that he claims he never recieved in the other inbox.

    regards

    Frode

I'm having this same exact problem, particularly after moving accounts to a new server or if restoring from backup. Any fix for this yet?

Tried that, tried a bunch of stuff...

    Tried this too:

    [/scripts]# ./fixwebmail
chown: failed to get attributes of `/usr/local/etc/cpanel/base/webmail/data': No such file or directory
chmod: failed to get attributes of `/usr/local/etc/cpanel/base/webmail/data': No such file or directory

It would be great if someone sorts out the fix. I find that account disk space usage is going up, it is a mess, and they are not getting their emails :(
