    Hello,
I am relatively new server admins and learning my way through. On a brand new server that I've setup, I see almost 100 emails in queue by root@servername. Can someone explain what exactly are they? Because I think this email queue is causing a bit of load on the server.

You should make sure the system has a root email address to send to.

WHM » Server Configuration » Basic cPanel & WHM Setup, Contact Information
    And:
WHM » Server Contacts » Edit System Mail Preferences

Change all of those to an off server email address.

System sends emails to root, root forwards that email to that email address you put in there.
