enable chmod on pureftpd through cpanel?

    Any suggestions how to enable chmod (on pureftpd) through Cpanel?

    Version:
    cPanel 11.24.4-R33609 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9

    OS:
    CENTOS 5 i686 on standard

    You should be able to use the chmod command via your FTP client that you use to connect to your server. You can also change permissions (chmod) via the File Manager in your cPanel. Navigate to then click on the file, and then click "Change Permissions" icon on top of window.

    CHMOD is in PureFTPD. I keep getting an operation not permitted 550 error.

    Sounds like you don't own the file then. Where are you getting this error at?

    To change owner of file, you'd use chown, not chmod.
