Entropy Search finds private files!

Would anyone care to offer any suggestions on this?

EntropySearch finds and lists private files and other undesirable stuff when the visitor runs a site search. But doesn\'t index other stuff that we might desire.

Seems to me like the \"cpanel Cgi= indexsearch\" function indexes everything in the home/public_html directory of the user\'s account and also all subdirectories underneath. Maybe exclusive of things listed in a .htaccess file ??? but can\'t be sure of how it is limited.

Here\'s the question: How can you control the spec\'s by which the search database is indexed?

You can restrict access to files and directories with .htaccess. The search engine would normally not be able to index the areas designated as restricted. No guarantees though. It\'s be worth to try on a directory and see how it goes. ;)

I'm also interested in learning how to exclude certain files and directories from the searches. Selena Sols version of the script had a feature that allowed the user to exclude files like this, but this functionality seems to be lost in that cpanel Cgi= indexsearch function :(

Hello moronhead,

How to restrict access using .htaccess (what the command / entrie?)?

Thanks,
