Hi,

I have a website i have removed from my server but it can still be traced to the server.

How can i check that the site doesnt exists on the server and what files within the server can i check to get the domain/account removed?

Hey,

What do you mean it can be traced to the server? Like via a ping request or what?

You should be able to go in WHM and just terminate the account as well as any DNS records for that account.

hi,

its when i run a trace route it leads to the server, the datacenter i am with is threatening to close the server down unless i can stop this.

the site was scamming users so i removed it but it must still be some where on the server as a trace route still leads to the server.

If their domain name is active and paid for and pointing to your name servers chances are is it's going to point to your domain name whether the account is added or not...

Hey,

As long as the domain is removed from your server IE terminate WITH DNS deleted you should be good to go.

Your datacenter should check this for you.

In these cases it's important to use the correct Terminology - Removed is not the same as Terminated.

Did you Terminate the account through WHM?
If yes, was the checkbox for "Keep Dns Zone" marked? It's not by default and majority of times, should not be checked.

You could also check WHM > DNS Functions > Delete a DNS Zone
and look for the Domain name used for the account.

And finally, check WHM > List Parked Domains & List Subdomains
to see if another account is using the Domain name to be removed.
