Error accessing sites with /~username

If I try to access any of my domains currently setup on the server with the address http://ip_address/~username, it gives me the following error:

&You are attempting to access a user dir from a domain that is not owned by the user. Please correct the domain that you are attempting to use to access this url.&

Yet the site loads no problem by typing in the domain name. This concerns me as I would like new users to be able to see their site before their domain propagates. Would anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for the reply, but adding the &/& at the end of the url still gives me the same error message.

I believe I found a bit of an answer in this thread:

You need to remove the protect bandwidth module from apache. I think it's called mod_bwprotect
