I have it too on 6 boxes, seems that the daily cpanel upgrade trashed everything

I'm not sure it is daily cpanel update because I use latest RELEASE and last RELEASE update was near week ago.
    I can be wrong however.

There is one process where the account creation freezes.
    It's a "/scripts/editquota":
After I terminated it the account creation continue.

I tried upcp --force - it didn't help.
Now will try fixquotas - hope this help.

    Guys, don't even run /scripts/fixquotas.
It'll stuck on each account trying to call broken editquota script for each account and taking near 100% of CPU.

    :(

    Hello,

I have this problem too with 3 servers:

    Top Process %CPU 82.4 /usr/bin/perl /scripts/editquota nho 25M
    Top Process %CPU 82.2 /usr/bin/perl /scripts/editquota nho 25M

You need kill the process to server continue online (if you don´t kill the process, your server will down).

When anybody to know how to fix this problem, please, post here. I already enter in contact with the cPanel support but no receive any reply.

    Regards,
    Minotauro.

    Hi,

A temporary fix we are using is to SSH in as root and run:

    # chmod 000 /scripts/editquota

This prevents the editquota script from executing and therefore overloading the server.

Obviously a better fix needs to be released from cPanel.

Side note, looks like the mkvhostspasswd goes a bit nuts (but dies off) when you apply the fix. It looks like the problem is more in the cpanel user files instead.

I'm seeing this on my machines as well. Does anyone have a ticket number or a bug report number/URL?

Has cPanel even acknowledged the problem to anyone, much less posted here or offered a fix...? Not being able to create or modify customers is a MAJOR problem that deserves some type info from cPanel.

I understand it has been reported to them. What I want to know is when THEY are going to do something to solve the problem properly rather than having to resort to the helpful but temporary "fixes" posted by other users?
Like maybe it's to much to ask them to "undo" whatever they did or issue an immediate fix as soon as possible we could upgrade to and solve the problem?
