ERROR: Curl Error libcurl was built with SSL disabled, https: not supported!

    This error message is self-explanatory. The version of curl compiled on your server doesn't support SSL. cURL works just fine even without SSL support. You need to re-compile cURL with SSL support, something like: ./configure --with-ssl=/usr/bin/openssl

    For anyone finding this post, looking for a solution, I just fixed this using cpanel's easyapache script, logged in through ssh as root.

    /scripts/easyapache
    option 7 on the menu
    select PHP
    scroll down and select CURL with SSL
    exit
    save
