You're trying to create the sub domain mail.domain.com?

The reason Infopro is asking this is that mail.domain.com already exists as a CNAME to domain.com on the machine, since it is used by some people for the incoming and/or outgoing server for email clients. You cannot use mail.domain.com as a subdomain on a domain, although you could revise the existing entry in WHM > Edit DNS zone area.
