Error in Sending mails

    Whenever I am sending mails from outlook express it gives following error message

    An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Test Mail', Account: 'webbyte.biz', Server: 'webbyte.biz', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B

    You'll need to post the log entries that appear in /var/log/exim_mainlog (linux) when you try and send. If none appear, then your ISP most likely blocks port 25 and you'll need to run exim up on an additional port.

    Apparently exim believes that sales@webbyte.biz is not a valid email address. If you are hosting webbyte.biz on your server then make sure it is listed in /etc/localdomains. If that domain is hosted elswhere then you need to fix that mail server.

    Also, stop cross-posting the problem to other threads.

    It would help if you posted the full logs from the exim_mainlog as you have truncated the ones that you posted, though it does appear that the server cannot route that email for whatever reason. You may have to hire a server admin or log a ticket with your cPanel license provider to investigate for you if you don't know how to track down email routing problems.

    Any update on a fix or what is wrong?

    Checked other servers and this is only happening on one. That though is the extent of the entire error for sending.

    Noticed that Webmail like Horde worked fine to send e-mail.

    An update on this.

    Got ours working, (search is a great feature here).

    In your exim_mainlog, check for the existance of the following just before the error.

    DNS list lookup defer (probably timeout) for ...........: assumed not in list


    Chances are that your ISP's IP is listed there. For us we needed to remove brazil and china blackholes.us from our exim.conf as they are timing out. Once removed and exim restarted mail sending worked fine.

    LOL - I should have come to the forums first - I just responded to you off-forum positing the exact same probable cause ;) I've seen a few clients this week with email delivery difficulties because of lookup problems with the blackholes.us RBL's.

    I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunatly for the client we were talking about this was not.

Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned on in your email client.

    what can I do ?? :(

    In my experience, OE also gives 0x800CCC0B, when the mail server rejected RCPT connection because the recipient simply doesn't exist (the user made typho on recipient address).

    @ rexkyo:

    Please make sure you 'pop before smtp', or sending email using smtp authentification.

    One of our client had this problem as well
    And got this fixed just by checkiing the box for " My Server Requires Authentication" in outlook

    Good luck to you !!

    Cpanel forums has solution to every problem :)
