After we have had our serve upgraded to CentOS 5 we transfered all our data over and are now recieving this error when we send emails out, however our website still work fine:

This happens for any email being sent out.

Also when going to the CSF control panel i get this
I'm assuming this is a BIND error however I cannot find any errors here is our resolv.conf

    nameserver 204.13.68.210
    nameserver 204.13.68.210

    and hosts file

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    204.13.68.210 web101.site.net web101

i have tried rebuildnamedconf and fixrdnc with no success

    Can anyone help us please?

Edit: i looked in the mail queses and found this,

I have now tried adding an A entry which fails with entry is already there

Your NOC gave you these caching name servers to use as resolvers?

and site.net doesn't seem to know anything about web101.site.net

204.13.68.210 is our actual server IP (the one we use to login to WHM) basically i copied over our old configs from CentOS 4.5 and everything seems to work except email.
    it's actually fsteam.net not site.net

If your resolvers fail, the fallback is DNS using the hosts file but you have web101.site.net listed. Additionally there's no "A" record for fsteam.net, only for ns2.fsteam.net on a different class "B" [204.13.64.145]

    http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=dnsrec&host=fsteam.net

    still

i can't understand how this has onyl started being a problem now it has worked for at least a year now, However i've noticed there is fsteam.net.db file in var/named but there is a web101.fsteam.net.db should there be one for just fsteam.net?

You've "transfered all our data over" to a different machine with different IP's?

It appears you've been having your machine's DNS do all the resolution for itself but your zone file is messed up now, yes.

the zone file "fsteam.net.db" should contain all your "A" records, something like:

    fsteam.net NS ns2.fsteam.net
    fsteam.net NS ns1.fsteam.net

    fsteam.net A 204.13.68.210
    web101 A 204.13.68.210
    ns1 A 204.13.64.144
    ns1 A 204.13.64.144

with other CNAME records for "www", "ftp", etc. (I'm only using a LOOKUP for the name servers, ns1.fsteam.net and ns2.fsteam.net, IP's). But, if your name servers, ns1.fsteam.net and ns2.fsteam.net, aren't on your machine, then the zone file isn't local either so I'm not sure how your DNS is constructed. Are those the correct, current IP's for ns1.fsteam.net and ns2.fsteam.net?

(And it's probably faster and easier if you use your NOC's caching name servers for resolution)

It's actually the same machine just upgraded to CentOS 5 (was 4.5)

The IP of my server is 204.13.68.210
    NS1 is 204.13.64.144
    NS2 is 204.13.64.145

I believe all these IP's point to our server. currently our fsteam.net.db file contains this, is this now correct? All of my other zone files are formatted like this and they work(just not email)

; Modified by Web Host Manager
    ; Zone File for fsteam.net
    $TTL 14400
    @ 86400 IN SOA ns1.fsteam.net. root.fsteam.net. (
    2007051103
    86400
    7200
    3600000
    86400
    )

    fsteam.net. 86400 IN NS ns1.fsteam.net.
    fsteam.net. 86400 IN NS ns2.fsteam.net.
    fsteam.net. 14400 IN A 204.13.68.210
    localhost.fsteam.net. 14400 IN A 127.0.0.1
    fsteam.net. 14400 IN MX 0 fsteam.net.
    www 14400 IN CNAME fsteam.net.
    www 14400 IN CNAME fsteam.net.
    ftp 14400 IN A 204.13.68.210
    fsteam.net. 14400 IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ~all"
