    A Urchin Stats link appeared in my control panel after the last time i upgrade cpanel. Users have been clicking on it and getting an error and then complaining.

    Why is this link in my control panel? I use the default X theme.

    I've notice on some of my other servers the Urchin link works. I didn't buy no license so I don't know why it is working? I never ask for urchin to be installed and I don't know why cpanel would put it there if I didn't ask for it and aint got no license for it.

    How do I get rid of this error?

    I cant understand how Urchin is working on some servers, you should contact your NOC because they may have installed it. Some do offer this free to server owners. As far as Cpanel they do not and will not install Urchin so they are not the culprits but the link does exist in X control panels.

    You must manually remove the link:
    If you are using shell or better yet SCP you can go to the theme directory and stats folder and edit the index.html to remove the Urchin.html or Urchin.cgi, whichever is being linked.

    pico /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x/stats/index.html

    Take out:
    </cpanelif>
    <cpanelif $hasurchin>
    <tr>
    <td width="21" valign="top"><img src="../images/arrow-t.gif"></td>
    <td width="629"><a href="urchin.cgi">Urchin Stats</a><br>
    Urchin is commercial stats package.<br>
    <br>
    </td>
    </tr>
    </cpanelif>

    The only thing is this is an "IF" entry, in other words "if" the application exists it shouldnt show if not. Funny....The bad thing is it will return when Cpanel is updated. Maybe just a advisory saying Urchin is not available on this server would be easier.
