I'm pretty new to linux and I was wondering if anyone knew why i'm getting these errors when I try to install Cpanel on Linux?

"Could not automatically install gcc. The GNU C compiler is required for a successful cPanel installation.
gcc often fails to install due to missing dependencies such as a required update of the kernel-headers.
cPanel specifically excludes kernel updates and this may have prevented the gcc installation.

The installer will attempt once more to install gcc by allowing updates of the system kernel.

+++++..+++.....++.++..++...+............+....+.Could not install gcc, please check your package manager! at ./install line 503"

    How do I install "GCC"?

yum install gcc is worth a try.

We started getting these errors yesterday too.

Exactly the same VPS's and exactly the same media.

Possibly a problem with the yum Repos or a change in the cpanel install script. We've still not worked it out.

running "yum install gcc" before installing cpanel does seem to work.

I am getting the same problem

Same problem for me. I manually ran "yum install gcc" first and then ran the installation script again. Seems to have made it past that point fine. Must be a typo in cpanels install script?
