    Hello,

We could see some problems lately on the cpanel servers. The problem seems to be with the disk usage of different partisions. When we do a df on the server some times the disks shows high usage , but actually when we check them there will not be that much usage.

We could correct it for our server just by remounting the partision. But if any body has any other ideas please let us know.

    Regards
    Sujith:)

This can happen, if you deleted large files while a process was still using them.

e.g.: deleting the apaches error_log while it's running may result in the file displaying 0kb in size, but the same diskspace usage as before might appear. A simple apache restart fixes such an issue.

So, simply kill or restart the process, which is using the files you just deleted and it can fix such an issue (if the above is the case).

    Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I can understand the problem with all the partision having problem. But /tmp is also having this problem. Can you just be specific why this happens with the /tmp . We had to remount /tmp to correct this. There is no processes running from /tmp.

This used to happen for us with only cpanel servers. This happens every 3-4 days.
