/etc/cron.daily/logrotate:

stat of /var/log/exim_paniclog failed: No such file or directory
/etc/cron.daily/tripwire-check:

**** Error: Tripwire database for server1.able2know.com not found. ****
**** Run /etc/tripwire/twinstall.sh and/or tripwire --init. ****
I am getting the above email from my server.

Can anyone explain it as well as help me on what I should do about it?

Okay

To fix this one
stat of /var/log/exim_paniclog failed: No such file or directory

do touch /var/log/exim_paniclog

It just means there was no log to rotate.

Now this one means that Tripwire software is on your server but has never been configured.
/etc/cron.daily/tripwire-check:

**** Error: Tripwire database for server1.able2know.com not
found. ****
**** Run /etc/tripwire/twinstall.sh and/or tripwire --init. ****

You can either remove it or have it configured properly. I would suggest having it configured properly.

Hope this helps.

Re: Re: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate help needed

do touch /var/log/exim_paniclog
By that do you mean to type that into ssh?

I'm new to server administration.

What does tripwire do?

And how would I configure it?

Thank you for your help thus far.

Re: Re: Re: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate help needed

yes in shell type

touch /var/log/exim_paniclog

As for Tripwire

Tripwire for Servers software assures the security and integrity of data on your servers by notifying users if, when, and how files have changed. It is not a cpanel software. It was probably put there by your NOC people.

If you are new to server admin, you would be best to have your NOC or someone install it as there is a lot to do with knowing which files etc...

You can see more about tripwire here http://www.tripwire.com
