/etc/ips is empty?

I have a VPS with CPanel and Show/Edit Reserved IPs is empty even though I have 21 IP's on the server. The data center fixed it my entering all 21 IP's including the main IP and now the page shows all my IP's. Each IP on a separate line.

My only concern is that I have another CPanel server and the /etc/ips file on that server has a colon separate list of 2 or 3 IP's or perhaps a subnet mask on each line. So I am wondering if the data center really fixed the problem by putting a single IP on each line. Will this cause me problems elsewhere in CPanel or what is the exact information expected in /etc/ips?

usually, yes, just single ip is enough and subnet values will take the default value. so, unless the subnet values are not the default ones, no need to specify them in the /etc/ips file
