Tired of this! I spoke about this before and I'll ask it again. Why is my hostname appearing as a subdomain inside of my control panel for my main site? How many times does one have to delete it only for it to reappear?

srv01.mydomain.com is my hostname. Then why do i find it sitting in my list of subdomains? Evertime i remove it, it reappears next day. Whats putting it back in my zone record? What update process is doing it?

*BUMP* Please fix this, reported 2 months ago in the forums and in TT format. While Cpanel doesn't think this is a big deal it is because is annoying as hell and when i go into subdomains and its listed it just makes my hair curl. Sometimes i can deleted from the panel but 99% of the time i cannot. It will refuse to delete. Then i have to dig around as root to remove it from my zone record.

If one were to think about this for a moment, they would realize that every process and account on a Linux Server must be 'owned' by somebody. You can delete the 'domlogs' for it, and the 'mail.hostname.com' as well, so it doesn't show up in WHM accounts. As for removing the Sub-domain though, you can find out how to remove it, but whether the Server will still work is another story.

Speaking of other stories, did you hear the one about the man, woman, and the one-legged monkey? If you have, please post it here -- OK. :D

What are you talking about? Why should my hostname be included as a subdomain that i cannot delete and when i do it keeps coming back. Its an entry in my zone record. Its not an account owned by anyone. Look in your zone record sometime and see for yourself. A subdomain is a folder in the virtual domain. Since i have not created a subdomain called mydomain.com it should not even be appearing. The worst part about it is i cannot delete it from the GUI and even if i remove it from mydomain.com.db the next day it comes back.

On August 16, 1997, The Residents did three performances of a 30-minute stage piece called Disfigured Night for the PopKomm music festival in Köln, Germany. The performance was sponsored by Malboro and filmed by VIVA TV (the German music TV station).

Qoute from the play - One day he finds a one-legged monkey (the last fourth Resident) who used to belong to a one-legged golden-haired girl, who's song fills Billy's mind.

Full info on play - http://www.residents.com/shows/disfigured.html
