Every morning at 2:05am my server slows down for a couple of minutes.

At 2:05am every morning all MySQL queries that normally take 1/2 second or less take 6 to 7 seconds and end up in my slow query log.

I ran Top at 2:05am and noticed the following command which seemed to be very CPU intensive at 99.4%.

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
    7899 oahure 39 19 77284 58m 1176 R 99.4 0.7 0:13.20 /usr/local/cpanel/3

Anyone know what the command above is doing and is it possible this could be the cause of my slow down?

Have you checked crons added for user oahure. Perhaps cron might be scheduled to run at that time.

I did check my Crons and I do not have anything setup to run at that time.

Not sure if cPanel by default has its own Cron jobs that perhaps rotate logs or do something else at 2:05am.

I am thinking it might be a reference to the 3.html file that the Analog stat collection program is creating. I have disabled Analog and will see if I get the same slow down again.

Since the command line is truncate, next time you see that happen (if it does again), please ps aux processes by that username:

    Code:
    ps aux | grep oahure
This way you will see the full command line for what is running.

Thanks, I added your ps command too.

I did disable Analog stat collection and so far no slow queries so I think it might have fixed the problem but I will wait a few more days to make sure.
