I sent support ticket to Cpanel and they fixed it. They say they reinstalled exim and spamassassin and fixed clamv config. And it's been working for more than 15 days.

Ours worked for awhile after recreating the account that I was getting a good test of this with. I have uninstalled Mailscanner + ClamAV several times and still face the same results.

did you do a /etc/init.d/iptables save?

Otherwise the iptables change is gone on a reboot.

edit: nevermind, doesn't fix it and the problem is with SA.

Can you please post your clamv.conf ? Just for us to take a look.

We don't have ClamAV installed, so I don't see an issue with that on this server.

Any more ideas?

I looked at a similar issue this morning (it was another providers server thats had an ip migration done lately)

I couldn't find the issue as i looked only briefly, but did manage to fix it by

edit /etc/exim.conf

driver = smtp

change that to

driver = smtp
interface = 123.123.123.123 (being your servers main IP)

restart exim - this worked for me, I will look back and find the cause when I get time to later today.

Fwiw.. We are having the same problem. SA hangs multiple spamds and emails start bouncing with 421 errors. For the time being I have had to disable SA for all accounts and have lots of unhappy people.

Same here. With new Exim 4.42 and every possible fix suggested spamd still freeze almost daily or even few times a day. This issue is now seriously affecting our business. If anyone has a working solution we are ready to pay for it.

I forgot to mention, we have RLX server at The Planet with nightly veritas backup, anyone has the same config? Maybe it's related?

Hi,

Heres how I fixed it on our servers:

rm /home/.cpan/sources/authors/id/J/JM/JMASON/Mail-SpamAssassin-2.64.tar.gz
/scripts/exim4

Still....after all suggestions mentioned in this thread ....problem still exists ... :(

Yes, we have it on multiple servers with multiple providers. Tried all propsed fixes in this threads with no long term fix (some work for a while but then return after a while).

Definitely related to Spam Assassin (disabling this fixes the problem) but not much info beyond that.
