    Hi All,

Is it possible to set exim to limit attachment size for incoming mail for each user?

    Ajay,

I don't know about per-attachment, but there is a way to limit the overall size of a single email (including encoding, etc) using the message_size_limit directive. For instance, let's assume you want to limit the maximum message size to 75 MB:

    1. Log into WHM
    2. Select Exim Configuration Editor under Service Configuration
    3. Scroll down and click on Advanced Editor

In the first box where you can type (right underneath where you see #!!# cPanel Exim 4 Config), enter in the following:

    message_size_limit = 75M

    4. Scroll down to the bottom of that screen and click Save

Your exim configuration will be rebuilt and your Exim will be restarted.

Also would love to know how to limit email size for particular accounts. Many users, including myself, who have relatively fast connections like the flexibility of being able to send/receive larger attachments. Meanwhile, some users on slower connections or cellular connections frequently would like to set max message size for those particular accounts lower. The one size fits all size limit applying to the entire server isn't really usable for me.

Please advise what is the default attachment size - sending and receiving?
    Thanks

I too am interested in filtering individual message size per user account

I am new to Exim scripting but I created:

if $local_part_suffix is "support" and $message_size is above 3m then
    mail
    to $sender_address
    from Support@mydomain.com
    subject “RE: $h_subject:”
test “$sender_address , $h_subject: , $tod_ful \n\nYour message was over our 3MB size limit and was not processed please try truncating your message and send again.
    seen finish
    endif

But need to ensure it will work before testing on my server.
