    Hi,

We have come across a very wierd problem which has a temp solution for it but no means ideal.

We can run /scripts/exim4 and it rebuilds exim ok, when I restart exim in whm it fails due to the /var/log folder changing to 700 and not 755

This is very strange, it keeps resetting the permissions, once set back to 755 and re-run scripts/exim4 its ok only to break again when i restart from WHM.

Obviously the temp solution is to chattr +i the log folder which does work, however this causes problems with clearing out log files, has anyone come across this problem? happens on stable, edge and release builds of cpanel on several of our servers.

    thanks,

That is indeed an odd problem. I see no reason why it should be bothering /var/log. Have you submitted a bugzilla on it? Or is your server compromised by "chance"?
