I'm pretty new to using exim and I'm having a problem sending mail from scripts. I'm trying to use PHPNuke and all the mail thats being sent out from it are bouncing. I looked in all the logs and found these errors in the exim_mainlog saying that its an unroutable domain. Sending through pop goes fine though. I thought it was because the reverse DNS of the main IP address of the server wasn't set so I had the colocation set it. The errors still continue. I searched through the forums for the same error and came up with many solutions but they all haven't worked. I've even reinstalled exim using /scripts/exim4 --latest and that didn't work either. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this I would appreciate it.

I've obscured my email address so that harvesters won't get it. But this is going to my service provider and it seems that exim is stopping any scripts from mailing out.

    Thanks for the help.

Yes and no. The whole server is less than two months old. So the install is pretty new and probably consodered new by most standards. I figured what the problem was though. In Tweak Security I had set it so that nobody can't email out. I didn't have phpsetuid support compiled in to my Apache setup so all PHP scripts run as nobody. I had to turn it off. Not exactly what I want since I think it would be better to find out who is running what in PHP in case if anyone decides to get fresh. So I consider it a compramise. I'll consider compiling in phpsetuid support when I know more about it. Right now however I've seen only complaints.

I did update of cpanel to WHM 9.9.9 cPanel 9.9.9-C159
    RedHat Enterprise 3 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0 and am now getting

unroutable mail domain to my other server and everywhere else.

    exim -bt name@domain.com shows
name@domain.com cannot be resolved at this time:
All deliveries are handled by MailScanner

I checked the /etc/resolv.conf and no changes.

Also did /scripts/exim4 and restarted exim and MailScanner.

Not sure this is related to your problem but this thread (http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=34576) from earlier albeit C-156 mentions a problem with missing exim.conf. Upgraded today to R-157 with no apparent email problems.

I actually went back to Stable S15 and that did not help either.

I am getting these also. I had submitted a ticket last Friday, they tried a couple things in my server and I have not yet heard back from them. I posted more data in my ticket monday, tuesday, now today Wednesday with a link to this forum... So I think they are either not aware that this may be happening to folks.

Another thing, is anyone now getting emails with attachments from php scripts and such?

Here is what I did to fix. not sure what did it.

after I booted the machine is was still bad so I

    /scripts/updatenow
    /scripts/exim4

not sure why but this seems to have corrected my problems.

    yeah, I did those ;)

It is weird cause it is not all email, just some, and only occurs with php scripts that have always worked... it is off and on...

It is not a DNS issue as I have fiddled with those and there is no change...
