    Hi...
from time and time (more than 10 times a day) my server is having exim problem.
When I check the exim status (service exim status) I have the follow information

    exim dead but subsys locked

If i restart exim, it comes back again but after a while the same issue arise again.

Anyone knows how to fix this issue?

    thanks

Firstly check the exim logs and /var/log/messages and
If you have a exim4 configured on your server then run the following scripts...

    # /scripts/exim4
    Also run this

    # /scripts/fixeverything
    # /scripts/upcp

    You can upgraed to latest

    # /scripts/exim4 --latest

    HI,

I have one server with this error, and I already run upcp --force, eximup --force and even restored exim.conf to defaults and even copied exim.conf from running server....

but if I run service exim status, I got this:

    exim dead but subsys locked

Exim is running fine, just don't know if it is failing... and just restarting, but checked the logs and it is just working fine...

how can I resolve this? I already searched this forum and found nothing that can help..

    thanks in advance..

    Hi Pinoywh,
the problem was because PRM was killing exim.
Do you have PRM installed? If so, check the logs that it will tell you that it's killing exim process.
