    Hye there
A user sent an email using our server on 28th may and it got delivered on 29th. There are no log entries showing if the message was queued or delayed on the server, other emails sent around the same time and even after got delivered just fine. Can anyone help me figure out why this message got delayed for 1 day or point me to a log that may help me in resolving this? I've pasted the log messages from exim_mainlog. no entries for this email in exim_paniclog or exim_rejectlog.
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Regards

There isn't another log to explain it if /var/log/exim_mainlog doesn't indicate anything. The only other option is to ask the receiving server to check the log file and provide any details in that log. It doesn't appear to have retried at any point. You did definitely do an exigrep for this information, right?

    Code:
    exigrep 1SYsIP-0002sn-MN /var/log/exim_mainlog
I'm selecting the message ID as that doesn't change and won't return other data.

    Thank you for the reply.
Yup i had tried the exigrep but got the same results. The receiving server had no record of any attempt of delivery from my server for 28th May. It has logs for 29th which corresponds with my server logs. I guess the email stayed in queue for 1 day without getting processed for delivery, thats the only explanation i can think of.

I find that exim is delaying email, for no reason... on first_time_delivery. Sometimes it is because of host_lookup_failed, but in some messages there is no reason other than first_time_delivery. I'm looking a this server queue and it has 1500 emails stuck there. Many sent from a user within a domain in the server to another user on the same domain. I did eximup force, upcp. Added the server IP on the /etc/resolv.conf , but problem persists. How do you think I can go about this?

    Thanks!

    ER
