    Hello,

I am haveing the following problem: I changed exim.conf manually. After restarting exim it says all works fine. And the SMTP is also working fine. However WHM status page shows that exim failed. Does anyone know how to change this?

I have added the information as listed on http://www.webhostgear.com/118.html. However I put all commands at one line (as other people suggest).

    Thanks in advance! :)

If you want to get it back to the way it was and you edited exim.conf manually, then you can:

    /scripts/buildeximconf
    /scripts/restartsrv_exim

However, if you want help getting the extended logging working, then you should edit exim.conf through the WHM > Exim Configuration Editor and follow the post by sawbuck:

Well, I did "service chkservd restart" (restart of the service check) and now all works fine :)

    Thanks for your help.

Im wondering if theres a way to stop cpanel from overwriting the extended logging line everytime cpanel updates?

its a pain to have to go in and re-add it every time....

If you do it the way sawbuck described in the thread above (using the Exim Configuration Editor), it won't be.

Problem is you cant add that line in after the
hostlist auth_relay_hosts = * in the file as theres no window till further down the conf file.

You should be able to add the extended logging commands into the top box in the exim editor and it will both work and be saved.
