    hello,
i can't receive mail into any of my domains, i checked dnsreport, reports ok, then i chacked the service status in server status section, i've found that exim (exim-4.43-1.FC3.1) FAILED
i don't know why, i tried to restart the server/exim without any success
can anyone provide me with details on how to fix it
    thank you.

BTW it's not my server but i'm in a support team of a dedicated servers company, so according to this company i can't reveal any information about the server/domain i'm trying to fix

Hmm, sounds like a good dedicated server support team :)

What do the logs tell you the reason for the service not starting?

Well, without errors and little information, you are a bit stuck for help here :)

    Try

    # /scripts/exim4

If that doesn't fix it, you need to find a dedicated server support team who know what they are doing, to help you I would say.

Yup. The problem was that you had the exim installation that comes with FC3 (exim-4.43-1.FC3.1) not the one that comes with cPanel. You should make sure that you have exim in your yum exclude list otherwise it will be replaced the next time Fedora update the rpm and that will cedrtainly break it all again.

Edit /etc/yum.conf and add an exclusion line near the top like this (if there isn't already one for you to append to):

exclude=mod_ssl* httpd* perl mysql* php* spamassassin* exim*
