    cPanel 7 requires exim4
Please understand that exim3 is not supported under cPanel 7 and you may have
undesired results. If you really want to continue, please type
"exim3 is not supported" (no quotes), press enter and the
    downgrade will commence.

Anybody know what this means? I'm trying to downgrade to exim3 (don't ask why, so many people already have, I've got my reasons for it) Thanks

Try stopping exim 4 & chksrv before starting the downgrade. exim 3 might be trying to start while exim 4 is still bound to port 25.

    service exim stop
    service chkservd stop
    /scripts/exim3
    service chkservd start

Nope, that didn't work. Any other suggestions?

What version of cPanel are you running? That would be my first question.

This means that after you did what I had suggested the server returned the same result as before?

I know that exim3 is not supported, but it should at least be available.
