I noticed exim shows down in red server status in WHM.

Restarted it three times and gave failed:

    Waiting for exim to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished.

    exim status mailnull 12275 0.0 0.4 7280 4612 ? S Aug20 0:00 /usr/bin/perl /usr/local/cpanel/bin/eximstats
    root 5556 0.0 0.1 6564 1568 ? S 01:36 0:00 antirelayd
    root 5565 6.4 2.0 25788 20812 ? S 01:36 0:00 /usr/bin/spamd -d

exim has failed, please contact the sysadmin.

Please explain to me why it is saying this. I have never had this issue before.

    Thank you.

Could be any number of things, what do the logs like /var/log/exim_paniclog exim_mainlog say, any errors there?

You could always try a rebuild /scripts/exim4 - via a terminal session.

Check things like disk space and the logs - apart from that, hard to say without further info. :)

Also server status says this for exim in parenthesis
    exim (packageeximisnotinstalled)

    Anything?

    rpm -qa exim

    What does that show?

It looks like exim isn't installed.

    You could try

    /etc/init.d/chkservd restart

Then look at the status in whm again, see if it reads the same mesage regarding the exim package.

Tried both but still the same.

Not sure why. Exim was there earlier.

    Is exim installed ?

    What did

    rpm -qa exim

    or

    rpm -qa | grep exim

    Show?

Is exim installed (you will see some output from the above if exim is installed) ?

Check your disk space is ok and maybe try a cpanel update if you can't find the issue, then it looks like you need someone who can help you further by logging in and taking a look for you if the following fails.

    rpm --rebuilddb

    /scripts/updatenow && /scripts/upcp

    /scripts/exim4

No good on anything. The first two don't show anything. The other 2 methods did what they did...the rebuild shows this (last portion of the results):

    mailnull 12275 0.0 0.4 7280 4612 ? S Aug20 0:00 /usr/bin/perl /usr/local/cpanel/bin/eximstats
    root 9311 0.0 0.1 6960 1572 ? S 02:24 0:00 antirelayd
    root 9320 7.2 2.0 26724 20812 ? S 02:24 0:00 /usr/bin/spamd -d

exim has failed, please contact the sysadmin.
sh: line 9: /usr/sbin/exim_dbmbuild: No such file or directory
sh: line 10: /usr/sbin/exim_dbmbuild: No such file or directory
