Last night exim failed on my server, I cannot send any mail, and the service will not start

Checking the exim configuration (not changing anything) gives the message "Configuration file has an invalid syntax. Please try again."

    I'm running WHM 9.4.0 cPanel 9.4.1-R71 FreeBSD 5.2-RELEASE - WHM X v3.1.0

Any clues? I tried to look in the advanced exim config, but nothing looked out of the ordinary.

check out the /var/log/exim_paniclog (i think that is the name). that should tell you what the error is within your exim.conf file.

try running 'tail -f' on that file while attemping to start exim.
