Is there a setting somewhere in WHM which could be limiting the SMTP connections from a particular IP?

Here's my problem, I've got servers based in Australia monitored from a VPS in the US. All services work perfectly except SMTP (both port 25 and 587) keep showing service down. I've checked the firewall on the nagios server no problem, it can telnet to the server but its very slow (about 5-6 seconds).

Has anyone run into this before? All other services are running fine and are green, just getting nothing but issues with EXIM.

Any ideas on where to start?

WHM >> Exim Configuration Editor >> Advanced Editor:

    Also check out:
    Tweak as required.

If you are able to SSH into the server then check out:

Copy paste the out put here when your service fails.

Also check your exim mail queue to see if your service is being misused.

Are you running a lot of IMAP connections?

Are you on Courier / Dovecot?
