Well the errors look like they are stating that the configuration file /etc/exim.conf could not be found.

/etc/exim.conf should be the correct location for the Exim configuration file.

Have you tried checking if /etc/exim.conf exists? If it doesn't I'd suggest creating it from a backup if you have one.

If you don't have a backup, just reinstall exim and one should be created...

    /scripts/exim4

    Go on, have a guess
I'd suggest you move to the RELEASE tree instead of STABLE which uses the new updater, the upgrade process should get you up to exim v4.50 too.

    Question?

Is the Release version a stable one? I'm having the same problem with trying to update, however my original problem was different. Some of my clients couldn't receive mail, and i get this error when I try to force the queue to deliver:

T=virtual_sa_userdelivery defer (-24): Transport filter process failed (127): unable to execute command

    Any idea's? Is this related?

In some ways it is more stable than the current Stable release. Stable doesn't mean "free of bugs" in the CPANEL world, it just means "we don't update it often." ;)

The current release build fixes a large number of bugs and security issues in the current Stable version (while leaving some bugs untouched).

I suspect you will find that as Exim is concerned, the Release build will work better for you.

A new stable release is coming fairly soon, so bugs or not you'll end up with it anyway. ;)

I've got the same problem. The first time I had this problem /scripts/updatenow and /scripts/exim4 fixed the problem. Now a few days later my config file is gone again and I can't seem to get it fixed.

Does anyone have any idea of what is causing this problem? I've searched through logs and found when this problem started but I do not see anything that would lead me to the cause.

/scripts/exim4 is depreciated now, start getting used to using /scripts/eximup.

Have you tried forcing the reinstall?

    /scripts/eximup --force

What build of CPANEL are you you using? You may want to upgrade to a more recent build before running that.

Yeah that fixes the problem but it keeps coming back. I think something may be happening when cpanel updates that could be firewall related. I've turned cpanel updates to manual so I'll wait a few days and see what happens.

I have the same problem with a server and nothing from the above solve the problem.
The emails are all still in the queue. Anyone with a suggestion?

    Thanks a lot
