    Before someone says somthing I did do a search and couldn't find someone haveing my exact problem.

    This 1 domain I am hosting that is having an odd email problem. If someone emails them from a outside domain the sender gets the error "Unrouteable address" ... but the person they are sending it to does receive the email as well.

    Looking over the past discussions here, I did a couple of tests using "exim -bt email" and here is my results.

    Error
    root@indium [~]# exim -bt stow@domain.com
    stow@domain.com is undeliverable:
    Unrouteable address
    contact@domain.com
    <-- contact@domain.com
    <-- pets@domain.com
    <-- stow@domain.com
    <-- stow@domain.com
    router = virtual_user, transport = virtual_userdelivery
    stow@domain.com
    <-- stow@domain.com
    router = virtual_user, transport = virtual_userdelivery

    Normal output
    root@indium [~]# exim -bt pete@domain2.com
    pete@domain2.com
    router = virtual_user, transport = virtual_userdelivery

    Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It is only happening with 1 domain on the entire server.

    Thanks in advance!

    Does the domain you are hosting have the MX records pointing to another mail server?

    I had that problem for domains whose mail is hosted elsewhere.

    If that is the case, search the forums for "localdomains" and "remotedomains".

    The fix for me, in that case, was to put the domain name in question in the /etc/remotedomains file and remove it from /etc/localdomains.

    Hope that helps!

    ah ... fixed my own problem. it seems like the customer had the emails pointing to an email that wasn't setup on the server. Did that and it worked fine.
