I am starting this thread in hopes that Nick and his Staff may hear our cries for HELP!
There are hundreds of posts in here regarding problems with exim ... and most of the threads are redundant.
But I just thought perhaps if we all signed this thread maybe it would draw some much needed attention.
I am not going to bitch about cPanel because it is the best in my opinion and I would not even consider using anything else.
But we need some salvation here please!
Answer the call and give us a viable solution or just fix it in a upgrade.
    Thanks! JJN

I second this motion. I mean no updates, no nothing. Not even ticket responses. Are they dead or something? People hate being ignored, especially when we pay good money for a product that lacks basic features, that should work, like e-mail. When companies start doing this kind of thing you wonder if they are on the way out! I would like to see some major fixes and FAST or an implamentation of some other soltuion that actually works!

    I agree.

I desperately need a solution to this problem.

    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8939

As my clients outgoing mail is getting bounced back to root. I have tried everything I can find and nothing is working to fix this problem. :( I'm going to start losing clients soon if I can't get this fixed. Or I'm going to have to move them over to my Ensim server. Someone must have fixed this issue somehow :(

Count on me as well. Exim is a load of crud and should be thrown in the bin.

And for Cpanel support, well it sucks big time. I dont know wht everyone goes on about it. They have made loads of money out of people like us and so far not given anything back.

Cpanel were ever or who ever you are, can you for once get up of your fat asses and sort this bloody email problem out.

    Not happy with you lot.

The error you list in that thread is quite common and should not be the same thing as mail getting immediately bounced back when generic users send mail. Exim is no more a piece of junk than anything else in the world, and can work just fine. Drop me a note and include the bounced message entries from your exim_mainlog. I'll give you a hand.

Oh, that wasn't directed at you. Several people have said they think exim stinks, but it's not any more or less stinky than anything else.

Received and responded to your PM, btw - the issue you have, like the issue facing most of the people who are having issues of the same sort, is not due to exim but to DNS.

Count me in. A day doesn't pass by where I either don't get a complaint about email, or lose a customer because of email problems.

I'm really considering Ensim Pro as a control panel because of this mail issue.

I mean no updates, no nothing.
I know, I'm pulling this out of context of the whole paragraph, but...

I'm assuming by updates, you mean 'fixes'? I think it would be great if the whole upgrade cycle was stopped for a while to bring things up to a solid core.

Imagine, if you will, a version of cPanel that is relatively bug free, and that 'stable' version doesn't get upgraded for 6 months. That, my friends, would be good. Stable doesn't need to be upgraded often. If it ain't broke, don't fix.

But, if it is broke, fix it immediately before adding more crap.

There are currently 4852 messages in the mail queue.

This is what I saw this morning.

All are 100% local delivery and I can hit the "deliver now" link and they will be delivered instantly.

    So true.

There are some things 'any' Control Panel cannot do -- nor be expected to.

Well I am more than happy to say Nick has contacted me and the problem has been pinned down by him. Too many SMTP connections causing a high load were not allowing the mail to be delivered thus creating a mail queue.

Thanks Nick I truly appreciate you contacting me over this issue.
This should prove to everyone that cPanel does take the time to help thier clients!

Although I have a lot of egg on my face I am also happy that I now know the correct path to take to resolve my issues.... WHICH.. were not caused by exim.

    Once again... thank you Nick.

    Re: PROCMAIL!!!!!

Wow, Procmail is now an MTA!!! When did that happen?!?!? :D

    Seriously ...

I don't have any answers but wanted to let the gang at CPanel know they do have at least one happy and dedicated user!

11 Boxes and counting!!! I know ... I know .... small 'taters compared to some.

Also wanted to tell Annette ... Two Thumbs Up! So much sensibility that some should rub off on us all!

To the poster considering moving to Ensim ... be sure to think hard on that. Ensim isn't a bad CP but the learning curve to the environment is steep.
