    I'm not sure, but it looks like it might be something to do with the filter file.

    /etc/antivirus.exim

    When did the problems first start happening, and what did you do just before? Try restarting exim and see if that helps.

    If it still doesn't work try stopping exim from using the filter. You can do this by editing the exim.conf file (/etc/exim.conf), and making the following line:

    message_filter = /etc/antivirus.exim

    into...

    message_filter =

    Then restart exim. Again, I haven't tested any of this and I'm not really sure what the problem really is. This is just one therory. Be sure to make backups when you're making any changes. If this does solve it then you probably just need a new filter file.

    It looks like your Antivirus was not installed properly.

    1) Make sure that your compiler is enabled before proceed:

    chmod 700 /usr/bin/*cc* ENTER

    2) Then, reinstall your antivirus

    Enter to your antivirus directory and type:

    ./install

    Keep default settings.

    3) Finally, stop and start exim (no restart)

    /etc/rc.d/init.d/exim stop
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/exim start

    cat /etc/localdomains.rpmsave >/etc/localdomains

    This will fix the problem.

    Check your files and permissons:

    /etc/amavis

    lrwxrwxrwx amavis -> amavis
    -rw-r--r-- amavis.conf

    Te content of /etc/antivirus.clam.exim:

    # Exim filter
    # $Id: exim.filter,v 1.3 2001/11/02 22:52:42 bengen Exp $

    # drop out error messages here
    if $received_protocol is "no-scan"
    then
    finish
    endif

    if ${perl{amavis_filter_scan}{$message_id}{$sender_address}{$recipients}}
    is "drop"
    then
    seen finish
    elif ${perl{amavis_filter_result}} is "fail"
    then
    fail "${perl{amavis_filter_text}}"
    elif ${perl{amavis_filter_result}} is "freeze"
    then
    freeze "${perl{amavis_filter_text}}"
    elif ${perl{amavis_filter_result}} is "accept"
    then
    headers add "X-Virus-Scanned-By: Amavis with \
    ${perl{amavis_virus_scanner_list}} on ${primary_hostname}"
    else
    freeze "illegal output from amavis_filter_result: \
    ${perl{amavis_filter_result}}"
    endif

    ************************

    In your file /etc/exim.conf be sure you have this line:

    message_filter = /etc/antivirus.clam.exim

    This is also being commented on in another thread..

    I think many of us with newer perl or libraries have a problem, and it has to be ticketed and pushed on to CPanel.

    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10915

    is the other thread..

    I have the same prob myself, and I have Mandrake 9. I am not sure what to think.... or do hmm..
